Michael Durkan has been hailed as "Central Oregon's most visually and vocally authentic Elvis Presley Tribute Artist." He has traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, thrilling audiences with his electrifying tribute to Elvis!

Michael started his career as an Elvis Presley Tribute Artist almost by accident. A family friend had heard that Michael would sing Elvis songs at Karaoke events and asked him if he would perform a show for her daughter's 17th birthday party. The small show was a huge success, and Lizzie ( the birthday girl) instantly joined the new generation of Elvis fans! Lizzie then decided that she wanted to become an Elvis Presley Tribute Artist too; with help and encouragement from all of her family and friends Lizzie achieved her dream!

Michael: "Whenever Lizzie comes to see "The Velvet Elvis" she always joins me on stage to perform a song; the audience loves it!"

Since emigrating to America in 1996, Michael has performed extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest. He has performed at weddings, fundraisers, social gatherings, and well known events such as the Deschutes County Fairgrounds "Home and Garden Show" (2002) and the "Cascade Children's Festival" (2002). On April 14, 2005 Michael was invited to be a guest on "Good Morning Central Oregon" and was interviewed by Kristi Miller.

Michael: "I'm very grateful to Kristi Miller and all the wonderful staff at "Good Morning Central Oregon" for giving me the opportunity to appear on the show and talk about upcoming events. The next day I performed at a fundraiser for Terrebone Community School's after school program. The evening was a great success, thanks in part to Kristi Miller and the team at "Good Morning Central Oregon."
